PRAYING FOR GC03 AT YOUR
HOME OR CHURCH
You may not
be able to attend General Conference, but your prayer support is needed.
Once General Conference begins you will be able to click on this link and
get daily prayer requests and updates.
Prayer Room(Falcon Lounge) –
Ideally located for prayer, overlooking the General Conference assembly
hall in Royal Brougham Pavilion, the prayer room will be open daily from
6AM-midnight. Prayer helpers will be on hand to answer questions,
and to pray with you on request.
Seeking the Presence of God
– The prayer room will adopt the pattern of the Old
Testament tabernacle to guide you in the most helpful way to approach God,
seek His presence and intercede for the church.
Daily Intercession Guides will be
available to guide your private or group prayers.
Worldwide Prayer Journey
– At selected hours the floor of the prayer room
will be carpeted with a world-map with prayer stations placed in various
geographic locations so you can actually “walk through the world” on a
prayer journey.
Prayers of the Hours
– To help you immerse yourself in a spirit of prayer
all day long, we are providing a Prayers of the Hours prayer book
for you to use wherever you are four specific times of the day: morning
prayers, after lunch, vespers (early evening) and night prayers.
Fasting and Communion
– Communion will be served daily during the lunch
hour for those who choose to fast during the noon hour and pray.
Daily Group Prayer
opportunities will be offered in the prayer room
most mornings at 6:30AM and at 6:15PM (prior to each evening worship
celebration).
Prayer Labyrinth
– Come participate in a classic Christian prayer
exercise that is being revived in many parts of the world. A prayer
labyrinth is a journey out from the clutter of the world toward communion
with God and then back out into the world again with a renewed sense of
calling.
The Seattle First Free Methodist Church will be sponsoring this
enriching personal prayer experience Monday through Wednesday (noon to
7pm) in their worship sanctuary. Come at your convenience. Go at your own
pace. The labyrinth journey takes about one hour to complete. (No one
should begin after 6pm).
Post-GC2003 Prayer
– We are praying that many of our attendees will
receive an increased prayer burden for the Free Methodist church and will
want to continue some of the prayer patterns we are practicing at General
Conference. So you are invited to become part of an ongoing team of prayer
partners and continue praying for the church using a one-month starter
guide: Daily Prayer for the
Free Methodist Church.
