Front of the Prayer Lodge

The entire house is cedar sided, 5500 square feet, on 10-acres of wooded land, about 12 miles from the center of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The Setting

The Prayer Lodge sits off the main road nearly 900 feet at the edge of a ravine. From October through April (when the leaves are off the trees) you can see three to four miles to a distant hillside.

Prayer Lodge Design

The lodge is laid out on three levels. The lower level houses 3 two-room apartments, each with private patio and entrance. The main gathering level offers a great room with an expansive cathedral ceiling, dining area, another guest room and full country kitchen. The loft area is private living space for Doug and Margie Newton.

Middle Apartment

Our largest apartment with a full kitchen is best suited for guests who will be joining us for an extended stay.

Middle Apartment - View 2

This great room is 17' x 22'. The view is even greater!

Middle Apartment - Kitchen

Talk about fully equipped! Dishwasher. Disposal. Large refrig with ice maker. Glasstop range. Large microwave. We want you to serve you with conveniences that will help you focus on the most important matters.

Middle Apartment - Bedroom

All of our bedrooms have queen or king-size beds and a secretary-type desk area, so you can enjoy reading, writing and prayer in quiet comfort.

The Gathering Area - (main level)

This is where we spend hours in conversation and prayer with our guests. Sometimes we just hang out together.

View toward the Dining Area

Following the "meal fellowship" pattern from Acts 2:42-47, Mary's Place retreats emphasize the midday meal and conversation as the time when the Lord does some wonderful work!
