Maps to Deer Ridge

Guided reorientation retreats.
Mary's Place serves the church by providing all-expense paid, six-day opportunities for pastors and key leaders to figure out how to convert from a distracted Martha-type lifestyle and put themselves in Mary’s place with prayer and the Word of God as their focus.

Mary's Place participants spend six days as the guests of Doug and Margie Newton at the Deer Ridge Lodge (a 5,500 square foot retreat lodge with three fully equipped private apartments located on 10 secluded acres in the beautiful rolling woodlands of southern Kentucky) near Bowling Green, Kentucky, or in some cases, another beautiful location depending on the needs of the participants (e.g. England).

Our participants are offered the beauty of nature and solitude, hospitality, ample privacy, prayer, spiritual conversation and support, and practical resources necessary for the process of life reorientation.

During the week-long experience, guests have one primary task -- to pray and think creatively about their personal life and ministry routine and develop a workable plan to reorient their daily schedule around ample time for prayer.

Our goal is to help our guests be successful in this reorientation process, so our program is a three-phase process - preparation, the on-site experience, and follow-up.
